New biofuel facility in Cheshire announced

Councilman Tim White is excited about a new biofuel facility to be built in Cheshire. And who wouldn't be? The bio-fuel industry grew about 300% last year and shows no signs of stopping. The New Haven Register article implies that they will be simply mixing vegetable oil with diesel fuel, but I doubt that is the case. Normally the oil is processed into biodiesel (by extracting gycerine) so that it becomes a more homogenous mixture.

Interesting.
They don't mention biodiesle, but I agree I would expect they are converting the veggie oil.

OTOH, I wouldn't have any problem putting an 80/20 blend in any diesel engine or furnace. Although I think the furnace may need tuning to go to 20% w/o modification.

Brazil puts 5% SVO in all their diesel already. 20% would really be setting a high mark.

I'll try and contact them to get an answer.
