Rell vetoes energy bill

Governor Jodi Rell put the kibosh on the legislature's comprehensive energy reform bill. This bill was to become the most sweeping energy change in the state since deregulation was passed in 1998.

This a huge disappointment for the clean energy and energy efficiency industry in Connecticut. Let's hope some type of legislation gets passed next year. Connecticut used to be at the forefront for supporting sustainable initiatives. In the last five years, incentives to renewable technologies in Connecticut have been depleting to almost nothing. Solar installers and other energy entrepreneurs may be forced to move out of state.
